Hazel House is a beautifully renovated three bedroom victorian terrace in the heart of Goulburn NSW. Hosts Leah & Nathan live in a grand old dame next door and Leah offers heavenly beauty treatments in her salon, Lush Beauty & Skin, which is tucked neatly down the drive beside their home. I invited my friend Min to join me for a couple of days on location so that we could take time to recharge, catch up and chat about Forage & Fodder when I wasn't photographing the bnb.
Leah is such a warm and welcoming host and I knew as soon as she showed me through the front door that she had something really special going on. Leah's interior style is vintage melded with modern luxury and her personality is as vibrant as the original art adorning the walls. I captured a raft of images before Min arrived then we unwound with a bottle of wine and decadent cheese platter that Leah had arranged for us. We must have really needed the break...after a couple of hours chatting we figured it must be time to retire for the night only to realise that it was 6:30pm. I think I managed to keep my eyes open for another hour or so before heeding the call of a very comfy bed and a blissful night's sleep.
Day two dawned bright and frosty. After breakfast Min popped next door to Leah's salon for a facial while I took my time capturing more vignettes in the morning sun. Each room is so thoughtfully designed to give a sense of light and comfort. Everything feels like an indulgence, from the bedlinen and bath products to the charcuterie & chocolates. Min returned glowing from her treatment and our friend Channy from The Little Flame Co popped in for a coffee & a lovely catch up. Then, like a progressive feast, we headed over to Valerie's Sunroom for lunch on the terrace with Lee from Longview Garlic. We collected grapevine for our Forage wreath workshops and a did a spot of op shopping in town, then grabbed some Thai takeaway from Home98 and headed back to Hazel House for a quiet night in. There, waiting for us on the doorstep, were two gift boxes from Leah filled with beautiful Skin Juice and Mukti products from her salon.
It was such a delightful way to a round off a delightful day.
