NGUNNAWAL AND WIRADJURI COUNTRY - DALTON NSW
Country styles I love...
Yesterday was a day off from assignments and the daily bustle, yesterday was all about taking a drive and spending a few hours enjoying tea and good company in a lovely country garden. Yesterday was a very good day! It had been a while between visits to Lilstan Farm and my gosh it was good to get back there. The garden is lush with all the recent rain, abundant with blooms and bird life. It was lovely to gather round the table under the grape vines and catch up with our group of friends. So much to catch up on and so good to wander about Min's garden or just sit and watch the fairy wrens flitting about. As for Min's kitchen...it was full of foraged goods and I am HERE for it! Benches and window sills overflowing with flowers and foliage, the wood stove covered in oak leaves and oranges. That is my kind of country kitchen! I took a little detour coming home, turning off onto a little dirt road just to see what I could see it was down that road that I discovered a little chap slowly wandering down the middle of a flood crossing. He was an eastern long neck turtle and really rather delightful...I felt lucky to be able to sit and watch him as he scrambled in slow motion towards the other side of the creek.
Thank you Min for your wonderful hospitality, it's always a delight.
Here is a snippet of the day.
